Kaltron Outdoors has announced that Baschieri & Pellagri (B&P) of Italy has perfected the steel equivalent of lead shot competition shells. Blind studies have proven that top competitors could not detect a difference between B&P’s Professional F2 Legend shells and top of the line F2 Legend lead shot shells.

B& P has designed a revolutionary compact wad that prevents the steel shot from touching the barrel or choke. Next, they specially hardened and polished the steel shot for optimum flight characteristics. Finally, they balanced the steel shot size, shot count and powder charge for the exact velocity to precisely duplicate the performance of 7 ½ lead shot traveling at 1330 feet per second at 40 yards.

Used Legend Stell #7 on small ducks. Confidence,Realy good shells.
Legend pro steel succeeds on Hungarian Partridge.

Used my Legend Pro Steel 12 ga #7 on Hungarian Partridge for 2 days worth of hunting last week. I live in Missoula Montana and we are required to use Non Toxic on the Salish and Kootenai Indian Reservation where there is some excellent hun hunting. Overall pleased with the product and 4 star is the highest I would give any steel load. It is hard to find steel smaller than #4 and there are a lot of holes in that pattern for a small bird like a hun to fly through. First day killed 4 birds. Hit 2 more I know of that I didn't recover and flew off to parts unknown. Second day I got 5 birds with no known cripples. Missed a couple close shots over points that I like to think my MB classic lead #7 would have taken care of with its fuller pattern at close range. After that I slowed down a bit on pointed birds to make sure they were 25-30 yards out and finished with 2 clean kills. Soon I hope to do some pattern testing at various yardages to confirm this impression . Overall happy with the shells and I always have more confidence when I have B and P shells in my gun.
