“These are the best hearing protector/sound amplifying earmuffs I’ve ever used.  I shoot shotguns either for hunting, ammunition testing, or clay target shooting purposes about 150 days a year.  Three years ago after trying numerous other combo hearing protector/sound amplifying earmuffs, I finally bit the bullet and bought the MSA Supreme Pro Earmuffs.  Wow!  What an improvement over competitors’ products.  I found the low profile MSA muffs to never get in the way of mounting a shotgun, unlike other higher profile products.  Also, the lack of any kind of sound adjustment knob sticking out of the upper portion of the MSA protectors prevents catching the butt stock and the knob from catching on branches, etc.  Very important when hunting in heavy cover such as cattails (waterfowl and pheasants) or brush (grouse and woodcock).  Additionally, there’s no complicated multi-adjustable sound amplification system on the MSA muffs.  Instead there is one simple recessed, non-bumpable on/off button with an increase or decrease recessed sound amplification button.  Very simple.  And most importantly, I found I could instantly tell which way the sound was coming from just as with normal hearing.  It’s easy to take this for granted, but I soon learned that with complicated multi-level and split ear sound adjustment muffs, they were almost never adjusted properly (and also easily bumped out of adjustment) so that I could hear the sound coming all right, but I really didn’t know from which way.  This is useless when hunting.  No doubt about it, I wouldn’t have – at any price – any other pair of ear protector/sound amplifiers than the current MSA Supreme Pro Earmuffs.”
