The time-honored 3-in. magnum case with 1 ¾- oz. of lead, with the added performance bonus of NICKEL-PLATED shot. The nickel is harder than copper and offers the potential for a higher-quality projectile. Nickel offers less deformation and more penetration. The reduction in deformation maintains the aerodynamic profile of the pellet to extend the effective range. Copper plating serves only to prevent surface oxidation of the shot and to make it pretty, and is not as hard as nickel. Magnum 50 is available in the same shot choices as our short magnum but with 1/8 oz more of NICKEL-PLATED pellets.
