Gray's Sporting Journal voted B&P Competition One as THE BEST! Quote from Gray's Sporting Journal:
"These are absolutely top-quality shotshells, and when you place your shot correctly, they’re all deadly, whether on clay or with feathers."

outstanding Review by big len
soft recoil and hard hitting. The 7/8's are great for s/s and youth training even skeet and sporting clays. The 1 oz loads are equally effective and soft recoil even for handicap trap. I find more open chokes work best, maybe due to less shot deformation. I gave a handful to other shooters who were using the more typical 3dram 1 1/8 loads. No change in the way targets smoked but a dramatic difference in recoil. Got some converts on the first try. Any plans for 3/4 oz loads? cheers Len (Posted on 8/11/11)
Softest shooting 12 ga I have ever pulled the trigger on Review by slewcity
I first chose these for their low recoil in my SXS. In doing some extensive ballistic research I found out their is insignificant performance in time to target and energy on target with the 1 oz 1160 fps out to 50 yds compared to a 1300 fps load with 7.5 shot size. I now have chosen this shell for all competitions SC and Skeet in my O/U and I am now shooting a trap league with these as well, and I am very impressed with the performance even at 27 yd trap handicap. absolutely fantastic Review by darrel
I have a franchi i-12 sporting, a little picky on what you feed it. it loves this things. patterns very nicely, they pattern a little better than my hands loads. no fte or ftf great ammo at a fair price. to me they perform just as good as aa. (Posted on 3/2/11)
Shot a registered skeet tournament with these and they're awesome! Review by Mike D
There's something about these shells that just makes them fun to shoot. There is a noticeable difference in felt recoil as compared to my favorite 1oz handloads @ 1,150fps. These 1oz loads, at an advertised velocity of 1,160 fps, feel more like a 20ga., than they do a 12! (Posted on 8/27/10)

I shot trap for the first time on Saturday. I broke a 43 (19 from 16 yd line) and (24 from 20 yd line). I have used B&P shells for sporting clays for the past several years. The consistency of these shells makes them worth every penny.

I've run through 100 flats of these shells at all kinds of targets, from trap through skeet and sporting clays. I shoot 7/8 oz of #7 1/2's. Soft shooting, consistent pattern and unbelievably hard hitting at long range. I don't believe there is any reason to shoot high recoil loads at targets.

The best shells I have used. Well produced and consistent throughout.

Registered Trap shooter using Krieghoff & Blaser. High scores, low recoil, clean barrel. What else could you want? Tryed almost all Brands. These are probabley the Best.

I like the performance and the low recoil. I would like to see a lower price.

Just got back from shooting the Compettition 1 7/8oz 7.5's for the first time and they are great. The main reason for trying them was to reduce recoil without giving up performance and they did the trick. Broke more birds than usual shooting trap, next up a round of sporting clays with these baby's. Great shell, now my exclusive load, thanks B&P.

I bought a flat of 7/8 oz #8s for practice on the skeet range strictly for reduced recoil to help with my cursed flinching problem. Even though these 7/8 oz. loads were run through cylinder chokes, they turned the targets into soot! Plus the recoil felt like that of my .410. Great loads!

Been shooting the 1 1/8 oz. 7 1/2 and 8 loads once a week at our club and really like these in my BT-99. Although recoil doesn't generally bother me, when you shoot 3 or more rounds of trap, it adds up and these are softer shooting than any 1 1/8 loads I've tried.
I've also tried them in my Benelli Montefeltro for sporting clays and trap, but although they cycle fine, I 'm going to try something a bit faster for clays and stick with the Browning for trap. I had some of the green box Sporting Clays that I shot in a Remington 870 and I hope they will be be better for clays than the Comp 1 in the Benelli.

Got a box as a door prize at "End of Trail". My16 yr old son tried them in Cowboy Action competition and liked them. Easy loading, light recoil, work great in a '97 pump. Bought a case and he insists on using them exclusively from now on.

I'm on my fourth case of these shells. They perform well, have very low recoil and work as well as any others I've used for trap, skeet and sporting clays. From a totally non-performance perspective, the comp one, and all of B&Ps shells for that matter, are probably among the nicest looking on the market. As long as shipping is free, I'll be buying B&P.
